September wrap up!

Wow September came and it went.....and just as fast as it was here... it was gone! We started the month with some family fun for our Annual Labor Day trip to Adventureland! We packed up the car and headed out for a weekend of family fun! The drive was horrendous as the rains fell HARD! It was unreal, neither Brad nor I could ever remember driving in such a rain storm for such a long period of time!

So it was a perfect day for the guys to find a local establishment to watch football and for the girls to have an afternoon of shopping at Jordan Creek Mall!!!! Everyone was happy!
After a full afternoon of shopping the Daddy's & kiddo's headed back to the hotel to relax and watch more football. Dylan wasn't feeling the best and fell asleep just before 6pm! We put him in the pack n play so we could have more room and he ended up sleeping ALL night! He had been begging for pizza and didn't even wake up to eat it! The girls returned with supper and after a dinner pizza party the girls all headed down for some time in the hot tub...ahhh, something about hot tubs just screams, RELAXATION!
The next morning Dylan woke up at 7am asking for pizza! He picked a couple cold slices out of the cooler and ate every last bite...yuck! But it is what he wanted! We were relieved that he was feeling better and completely rejuvenated for our all day trip to Adventureland! The sun was shining bright and we were ready for our full day of FUN!
The place was PACKED! We had never seen it his busy for a Holiday Weekend but with the all day rain the day before we were sure that those people came out for the beautiful day on Sunday. It didn't stop the fun tho, lots of giggles and smiles from ear to ear, non-stop, all day long!

Collin & Morgan were such awesome cousins not hesitating one bit to ride the kids rides with Dylan!

Daddy got in on a few of the rides too!

Brad loved the rides just as much as the kids! The non-stop thrill of the roller coasters brings out the kid at heart! Dylan was not letting Daddy out of his sight towards the end of the day. Even while riding in the stroller he wanted do hold Daddy's hand.
After a full day at Adventureland it started to get a little chilly out. We headed back towards the hotel and stopped at Cracker Barrel for a late supper, yum! It was just what we all needed to warm up a little and eat some comfort food. But the fun was not over yet! Back to the hotel for some more pool and hot tub fun!

We had such a fantastic weekend with my Aunt & Cousin and family! We are already looking forward to next years annual trip! The next morning after breakfast we packed up and headed towards town with a few stops along the way! Dylan needed soccer gear and Daddy wanted to browse Bass Pro, so a few stops to squeeze in before wrapping up a fantastic weekend!

Next up this Month, Dylan started his first organized Sport, Soccer! Every Saturday, September thru October, we will be out at Tuma Sports Complex! We weren't quite sure what to expect, we knew there were 50 kinds enrolled and that for the first 20 minutes the parents actually practice with the kids, well a ton of fun was in store for us! Brad was working the first weekend so I got a sitter for Danielle and Dylan and I headed out!

So the first week went ok. It went great during practice but then the game came. Dylan was so happy to see that two of his buddies from school were on his team! Afton and his very best buddy, Wesley! We had a blast practicing together and learning a few fundamentals. We started kicking the ball to each other, big kicks and small kicks. Then we broke down into stations & practiced a few other things, throw in's and a few dribbling games of 'What time is it Mr. Fox.' Then the game came....Well during the game he got a bloody nose from being hit in the nose with the ball, so sadly that ended the fun for him. We had a talk about being a tough guy and getting back out there to play more after you feel better.....well it was a good talk at least!

So as you can see the second week went fantastic! He was really into it and got after the ball and got in some great kicks! Until the end, well then he had a few, 'I can't do it' meltdowns in the middle of the field. Some of the kids are just no holds bar and really are 110% after the ball, that is how he needs to be. Needs to get a little bit more aggressive and run after it, not expect it to come to him. It is all a learning process and learning what team work is all about. The best part is that when he doesn't want to play he doesn't have to. They plan 4 on 4 and one player sits out, but each of the kids gets to play 3 out of 4 quarters. When he doesn't play or doesn't want to play we make him sit right on the sideline and watch the game so he knows what is going on out there and can see the other kids play. It is great for Dylan and they are not even really about all of the fundamentals right now, teaching them a few things but mostly during the games just letting the kids play with a little guidance. And as the coach told us yesterday, with these little guys, 'expect the un-expected.' Well said!
Dylan & his best bud, Wesley! Nice smile Dyl!
2011 AYSO U05 Boys Soccer Team!

One very special event in September that we Celebrated was Dylan's Birthday! How in the world can our little guy be 5 already you ask?! Well, we are still trying to figure that out ourselves!!!! We had a lot of fun Celebrating with him and he had a ton of fun with his birthday, we always make birthday's very special around our house!
Presents started arriving in the mail during the week from Grammy and if I could have recorded every phrase from him that I heard, your hearts would have melted just like mine did!

Daddy had to work for his Birthday weekend so Grandpa invited us to come spend the weekend at his house! We had a ton of fun! We first visited a place called Monkey Joes! This place was incredible. It was filled with not only bounce houses for kids, but huge bouncy slides, obstacle courses and a big arcade room! It was fantastic and Dylan had a BLAST!

Of course we took a short break for a snack! Dylan's choice, a soft pretzel with cheese and M&M's!!!

And Birthday's bring the excitement from opening gifts, anything from his favorite character under ware to his favorite toys....always very appreciative of what is inside!

Grandpa and G'Ma wanted to make Dylan's Birthday special too. So another Birthday cake & more presents were waiting for him when we got to their house!

Uncle Nick & Aunt Sarah came over with their gifts for what was another afternoon of pure fun for Dylan! He had a blast playing with Uncle Nick & Daddy & his new Spiderman toys!!!

Another year that Dylan has lit up our lives! Every single day he teaches us something new about life and what a blessing it truly is to be a parent. Happy 5th Birthday Dylan, we love you to the moon & beyond!

September also brought another session of swim lessons!!!! Dylan is taking this session off since he is in soccer, but Daddy & Danielle have started again with our great friends the Eddins, as Mike participates with their daughter Lila! We very much look forward to this weekly event, it is SO much fun for the girls, not to mention very therapeutic for Danielle...and we know how much the Daddy's love this one on one time with their girls too!

A few weeks ago Mommy tried it out for a night with Danielle and we also had a TON of fun!!!

Non-stop smiles & chattering away. Learning how to move thru the water with little scoops & big kicks! We very much look forward to this weekly fun continuing thru October!
September also brought a bunch of family fun time, watching Football, playing outside, fun dinners out & surprises for the kids! Parenthood sure is grand!

Skylar very much is a part of our family & she loves outdoor play time too. Well these days she is so over the sticks & is more into trying to carry around branches!

His exact words, 'behold, the mighty frisbee'! A quote from his favorite movie!!!
The beauty of nature surrounds us daily!
And these times in our lives are priceless. A rainy Saturday afternoon nap on the floor.....
Snuggles on the couch before bed....

And a little girl snuggling up and feeling close to her Daddy!
We are so thankful what September brought our family! Now into October we have had a few surprises up our sleeves...more on that later! Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you this Fall!~
