Not a day goes by....

That we don't think of you....

Today, March 30th, is the day our first baby boy was born. Happy 5th Birthday Dalton James Holub! Mommy and Daddy miss you SO much. We love you, we miss you and not a day goes by that we don't think of you sweet boy.

So much is lost in losing a child. A piece of our heart torn, we try and mend it but things just aren't ever how they could be, how they should have been. We often talk and wonder about who Dalton would be today? Would he be like Dylan, would they be similar being brothers or would they be different? Would they still resemble each other as they did at birth? We miss our little man terribly. Not a day is taken for granted, no tomorrow is guaranteed. Today we remember our short time with our little buddy. We celebrate his life, although too short we celebrate the most wonderful gift God first gave to Brad and I, our first born child.

To say that we have changed thru the loss of a child is an understatement. Our life has grown, our marriage has grown, we are tough, we were lost and we have been found. There is something very special about children, our children....God's children. We have been blessed, we are blessed to be Dalton's mommy and daddy. He is and always will be our first little miracle, taken away from us all too soon, he will never be forgotten.

We are stronger people Dalton because of what you have taught us and continue to teach us about life, about love, about each other about the gifts that the good lord has given to us. Although we do not understand why you were taken from us so soon... we fully understand your life, that lives on, thru your brother and sister. We love you little buddy SO much, more than words can say. Please Dalton, never ever forget how much we love you, how much we miss you and how much you, little buddy, were the very first symbol of your Daddy and I's love. We know you are running and playing and sitting on Grandpa and Grandma Kinney and Grandpa Holub's lap, they are taking great care of you little man. We miss you SO much and we want you to have the most wonderful birthday ever. We can't believe you are already 5 years old today! We love you Dalton James, Happy Birthday little man. Please watch over and protect us and continue to be our guardian angel. Protect your brother and sister and whisper good thoughts and advice in their ear, protect them every day of their life. We feel you, we know you are here, around us whispering in our ear. We miss you, we want to snuggle you and kiss you and run and play with you and laugh with you. We wish you were here, with us, your family. You will always be with us in spirit, the fresh air we breathe, the sunshine twinkling in our eyes, the brightest star we see in the night's sky. You will always be with us, you ARE always with us....

Happy 5th Birthday Dalton, you live in our memory and will continue to live in our memory every single day of our life! xo xo xo xo

Family time....the most important time!

We have been having some quality family time. Making a point to give extra snuggles and play time to the kids on the weekends when it is 'just us'! The weeks go by SO fast and time seems to just slip away some days, when the weekend comes, it is time for 'us'!

And yes, at times we have a little Drama Queen on our hands!

'Um hello...Dad, is that you?!'

We took some time playing and being crazy in the snow...before it melted! We all got outside, the kids in their snow gear, and we tromped around, built a little fort, taught Dylan how to do snow angels, and let the kids be kids! Dylan just loved it, he busted out his bucket and shovel. His sand bucket and shovel, mind you....but sand time is just too far away right now, so why not get some use out of it in the snow! He loved it, scooping and digging and packing the snow. He was having a blast. Daddy was too running and jumping in the snow piles in the front yard. It was a perfect day, the temp was around 40 degree's and the sun was shining. Our last day of the full effect of winter, and we enjoyed every minute of it!

The next morning we woke to sunshine and the dripping sound of water....the snow was melting away. That week we got a big surprise and the temp's hit 60 degrees!! YAY! It was time for walks and playing outside. Running in the grass, and putting the swing set to use. Danielle just loved the infant swing, she was extremely content feeling the nice fresh breeze, so content she nearly fell asleep! Dylan was trying out the rock climbing wall up to the slide, he would slide down and make sure to have a nice big landing into the soggy wet, muddy grass below! He succeeded, such a boy!!!

Both of the kids are thoroughly enjoying swim lessons. Danielle loves her quality time with Daddy on Monday nights for Aqua Tots along with her friend Lila and her Daddy Mike. The girls are just the cutest little fishes ever! Although Danielle had a fussy night because of teething, she was back smiling ever so much this week! After, while getting her dressed, she makes sure to tell us ALL about it! Squealing with excitement, oh the sounds of our baby, music to our ears!

Dylan loves his swimming lessons on Saturdays. He gets very excited when he knows it is his turn for lessons. He tells us all about it and doing big kicks, and little kicks, and big jumps and sitting on the stairs and blowing bubbles. He had one Saturday he just didn't want to get in the water so we made him sit and watch the whole class, well as soon as we left the parking lot he was crying for lessons. I guarantee you that is the last time he chooses not to partake in class! This past class he was doing back floats and tummy floats and getting his ears wet, almost dunking his head under! This kid loves the water! We have a couple little fishes on our hands!

Sunday we had a very nice family brunch at Granite City! Talk about sinful food, but SO delicious! Dylan was very excited to eat fruit and crescents and even some prime rib. Danielle thought she needed to be held the whole time and was very content on mommy's lap! Daddy stuffed himself SO full, of course! It was a very nice way to start our Sunday family day, and a great BIG meal to end the weekend!

We were stuffed so full, but managed to pack in the car for an afternoon of shopping and errands!

Each new weekend brings lots of time that we look forward to spending with each other! Now the Spring is finally here, we are excited to be outside more, going for walks and breathing in that fresh air and soaking up the sunshine!

There is no time like family time.....and we love every minute of it!Time to wind down before bed!

We have 2 beautiful, happy children who teach us something new about life every single day! They keep us busy and we wouldn't have it any other way!~
