March for Babies 2012!
This year was very important for us and me especially as my employer was a huge sponsor. The Safety Sponsor this year donating a large amount of money. It was our first year sharing this partnership and I had organized this and then found out I was unable to be at the event. Although the MOD ladies and new friends are fantastic and knew I needed to be with my Mom, I still needed to put forth our commitment, so my fantastic husband took over as our leader and helped out! With us not being there, that also proved to be hard to have our team grow as we wanted it too. We had some that were supposed to show that didn't and some that had other commitments. This was upsetting for us because this is a huge cause that is our family's way of giving back and helping a cause that helped us so much. But when we expected more and it didn't happen we have a close, fantastic group of friends who step up and stand by our side. They never let us down and they pick up the pieces when we need them the most without even knowing how much they are helping, they just do it out of the kindness of their hearts and for Moments like this.....we cannot even explain how grateful we are! Them being there for Brad, showing how much they care meant the world to us, that is all we needed! The weather was cold and drizzly and they bundled up with their wee ones and walked step for step with our family leader! We love you guys and are SO thankful for you and your support!

Some times in our life we need to put our heart in the hands of our maker and have the faith that every things gonna be all right. As my Mom fights her battle, some pretty fantastic people came together this weekend and had a Benefit for her so she can continue her treatments in Arizona. This is very humbling but as we know it also was much needed and VERY appreciated! I would have loved more than anything to be there with Mom, but there was no doubt that she is not facing this battle alone.... nearly 200 people came and showed their support for her. Mom didn't quite know what to expect and she was blown away by the outpouring love shown to her.Pink 'Stomp out Breast Cancer' was the theme. Home cooked pasta dinner by Tom, live music on the terrace under the tent at their local Elks club. It was a fantastic event with a lot of hard work and effort put forth for this cause.
Even Mom's old precious puppy Sydney came with her new owner to show her love and support for Mom. You can tell by the big smile on her face that seeing Sydney just literally made her day!
It is Moments like this when you realize, that in moments when you feel that you are alone facing a battle, that you are not alone in spirit, there are hearts of many all over who are praying every single day. A very generous amount of money was raised so Mom can get hopefully 2 different week long treatments this summer and fall in Arizona! Love, love, love and so extremely thankful!
As my brother graduated from College last week that leaves just one of my siblings left in school involved in events continuing to work her tail off and her hard work is paying off in the classroom and on the track! Britni had Leagues this weekend which is the meet before Districts and State. She has already qualified with State but will continue to participate in these two meets as they are still very important.
Well there is no other way to put it other than she literally kicked butt yesterday and was crowned League Champ!!! We continue to be SO proud of her and her accomplishments. She jumped in Triple jump, 36 feet 1 inch which is what she jumped at State last year, mind you she is only a sophomore and still has 2 jumping years ahead of her, plus 2 big meets this year! They also got first in their 4x100 relay. Way to go Britni, shining in your events and we are always reminding her to soak up the fun in Moments like this as her hard work and perseverance is paying off!
Britni also this weekend attend Prom with her guy Thomas. Thomas is a Senior this year and Britni also has a lot of Senior friends. She had a fantastic time and looked absolutely beautiful! One of the most exciting events of the evening was when Thomas was crowned Prom King! YAY, Thomas, we are so happy for you! He is such a super sweet guy who treats my sister like a princess. We are very excited for him and his new adventure at college next year as he will attend Bowling Green U! This evening they literally soaked up the Moment and lived it up!
Their Prom is nestled in the foothills of Bloomsburg the town where they live. The Prom was at a place called The Barn at Boone's Dam, it is in this huge White barn that has been totally rennovated, the tents on the property are where they attend a sit down dinner pre-Prom, how cool is that?! So no scurrying to make reservations and get to dinner on time etc, it is all in one location and everyone attends. Their meal for the night was very over the top with crab cakes being a favorite on the menu! This is just beautiful!!!
Getting ready for the big night.....
Looking beautiful as ever!
She is probably the only one I know who could pull off a dress like that!!!
The King!
Their night cap included a limo ride to a couple Post Prom Parties! Wow, this brings back memories!! So much fun! She had a blast!
No doubt she will never forget these fine Moments that are now Memories!
And as a Mom I can honestly say there has not been a day where I have felt under appreciated for my efforts for our family. Yet to have a 'Special' Day dedicated to Moms makes me realize how lucky I am to be a Mom to 3 of the most fantastic kiddos ever and how blessed I am to have such fantastic a loving Mom, and a couple family members who are like a Mom to me and also such awesome friends who are also Mom's. Today we celebrate Mom's of all kinds!
My Mother's Day celebration started on Friday at school with my little man....I arrived to a Mothers Day celebration 'Fit for a Queen' was the theme, and they went all out!
Pretty soon the kids came in Marching and singing us songs. It was SO super sweet! They stood before us Mom's seated before them and sang their favorite versions of their Mommy songs, my...heart...melted!
We then had snacks of fresh fruit, chicken tenders, cream puffs and pink lemonade! This I think was the kids favorite part! This was a super special Mothers Day Celebration for me and I was SO happy and honored to be there with my little man!
The weekend continued with family fun! Saturday Cassie graduated from Nursing school and she finally has her RN degree! We are SO proud of her and were happy to celebrate with her family and friends at a surprise Graduation party after the pinning and ceremony on Saturday! She was very surprised and very deserving of some extra celebrating!
After Dylan was born he became Cassie's inspiration to become a Nurse and that is exactly what she did. She is going to be such an awesome nurse for those little babies and a blessing to their families as well! We are SO proud of you Cass!!!
Sunday we woke up after the kids and Daddy let me sleep in, we had a fantastic breakfast and headed of to Brad's Mom's to spend a little time with them this Mother's Day. The weather was just absolutely beautiful and we were SO excited to be outside soaking up some sunshine! We came home this afternoon after a stop at the flower shop! Planting flowers is a Mother's Day tradition that I started with my Mom and I love now doing it with my own kids. While we didn't get all of our flowers planted we did spend the later part of the afternoon out on the deck relaxing, just what this Mommy wanted!
A big glass of iced tea, a good work book, my puppy the kids playing with hubby...life is grand!
This is when we knew it was time for baths, kids getting tired after a weekend of fun!
The sun shining down on us, my beautiful family surrounding me and feeling the love with big hugs and kisses from my wee ones. That is just what this mama loves about life each and every day! Moments like this, each day, make me realize just how blessed I am!
Happy Mother's Day to ALL Moms and especially my Mom. Being a Mom is such a gift, one that I cherish with all my heart.
